In the video above, they say:
“Due to the worsening situation, the children are currently not attending school. But we believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we believe in victory, and that the children will soon return to play with toys and do their homework. Thank you, Denmark.
Thank you, Denmark!
Together to victory! Thank you.”
This time, toys, school supplies, sports equipment, and other essential items have been delivered to children through local aid workers and staff from the National Police of Ukraine. Due to the serious security situation, the aid can only be delivered with support from the authorities and security personnel.
Unfortunately, the situation in the area has worsened. The front line is moving, and local communities are under constant threat from Russian drone attacks and shelling. As a result of the increased danger, the children are currently not attending school.
Our partner from the National Police of Ukraine writes:
“Due to the threat from FPV drones, the children will not attend classes for the rest of the month, but we continue to bring aid to them. There is also no electricity, but with the help of flashlights, we managed to document the delivery of the aid.”
For us, this is another reminder of why humanitarian aid to Ukraine is still needed. Behind every box of aid are children trying to maintain a normal everyday life under extremely difficult conditions.
Støt Ukraine continues to work on delivering humanitarian aid from Denmark to Ukraine and supporting children, families, and local communities living close to the war. We hope the situation will soon stabilize, so the children can return to school, play, and a safe everyday life.
